SERVING GOD IN SO MANY WAYS
Being a part of worship, and serving our church family, gives you a chance to share the
gifts that God has given you. Here are just a few of the opportunities available:
WORSHIP TECHNICAL TEAM
(Sound Board/ Videography)
To help those with hearing issues enjoy our services, we need people to run our sound system. Hearing assisted devices are available for use. In addition, for those who cannot attend worship due to illness, we upload the Sunday service to our website and Facebook page.
If you are interested in volunteering to run our sound board or video equipment to record the service, please contact the church office at 217.528.4311 or click here (hyperlink to online volunteer form). Training is available.
Sundays, 10:15 – 11:45 a.m.
Wednesdays, 6:45 – 8:30 p.m.
Provide a loving environment to our young church family members while their parents are rejuvenated by God’s word during our Sunday worship. Volunteers also are needed occasionally on Wednesday evenings to provide child care for members of the church choir during rehearsals.
Assist with providing communion to those members who no longer can attend worship due to an illness or disability. This is a wonderful way to visit those in need and serve God by bringing his table to them.
AS A DOCENT
June – August
Monday and Wednesdays
11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
FPC of Springfield is a unique and historical church that is proud of its connection to the Lincoln Family. Volunteers are trained as docents to lead group tours of the sanctuary that features the Louis Comfort Tiffany windows, Lincoln Family’s pew and Brombaugh Opus 35 pipe organ.

Our music ministry enhances the weekly worship service and conveys a message that is introspective, jubilant or enlightened. Through a variety of music opportunities – during worship and for special events – our members, friends and music scholars from Millikin University provide a deeply moving, uplifting and joyous celebration of God.
Choir – Sunday Worship
August through May
Rehearsals: Wednesdays, 6:45 – 8:30 p.m.
Our church choir provides a wonderful opportunity for you to share your gift through song. The sanctuary choir performs August through May and is a great way to meet people who share a gift and love for music.
Special Music Opportunities
Maybe you have a musical talent other than singing. Wonderful! We’d love for you to share your talents praising God. During the summer and at different times throughout the year, music is needed for the worship service or a special event.
Advent and Lenten Brown Bag Concerts
If you have a musical talent that you can share with us, please contact our Music Director, Becky Kemp at email@example.com
Spring – Fall
Help keep our Peace Garden beautifully maintained throughout the spring and summer as part of the Holy Clippers. Our Peace Garden provides a meditative area to enjoy the beauty of the garden and prayerful readings.
