OUR COMMITMENT
As a downtown church, we are committed to serving those in need. We have heard the call from God to step into the circle of justice, kindness and mercy and to break down the barriers between neighbors: culturally, economically and societally. Join us in serving all of God’s people.

SAMARITAN MINISTRIES
Helping those in need.
Our ministry and worship are centered in downtown Springfield, and we choose to put our ministry to work every day by breaking down barriers between individuals, God's people, and societal expectations.
One of our core beliefs is that all church families are called by God to advocate for social justice through active service and community outreach. All members of First Presbyterian Church of Springfield are faithfully rooted in its rich and historic traditions, and focused on reaching outward to ensure the faith community is ever transforming and meeting the emerging needs of God’s people.
In support of these core beliefs, First Presbyterian Church of Springfield operates a Food Pantry, and provides support in the form of bus tokens or vouchers, financial counseling, and referrals to additional services through our Social Service desk. Volunteers are always needed to assist our neighbors in need with these services.
SOCIAL SERVICES
Our trained social service staff and volunteers offer assistance to our homeless neighbors, the elderly, and the disabled with paperwork, transportation tokens and voucher, financial counseling, referrals and advocacy programs.
