Prelude:
Variations on Come Ye Thankful People, Come
........................................................................... F. Cunningham Woods

Offertory:
Thanks Be to Thee

.......................................................................................... G. F. Handel

Postlude:
Trumpet Minuet
............................................................. Alfred Hollins

Music note :
A favorite fall harvest festival / Thanksgiving hymn is the subject of the prelude today — a grand composition by American composer F. Cunningham Woods. Another well-known song at First Presbyterian is Handel's Thanks Be to Thee — reputedly sung from the pulpit by former pastor, Dr. Richard Graebel!

Alfred Hollins was a well-known, blind Scottish organist who often toured in America. His tuneful Trumpet Minuet continues the taste for trumpet tunes, extending back to the days of Purcell and Clarke.
